LAS VEGAS – Gridiron Software (www.gridironsoftware.com) is demonstrating its Flow workflow management solution at the NAB show. Initially introduced in January, Flow is now undergoing beta testing with an anticipated release of later this summer.
Flow automatically tracks a user’s work and instantly shows the relationships between assets, but without changing the workflow. The software uses a sophisticated realtime asset tracking technology to record all import/export, save/save as, and copy/paste actions in a project. It understands the file formats for most creative pro applications and maintains the relationship between stills, movies, sound clips, fonts and plug-ins on all local, network and removable storage devices.
In addition to workflow maps, which show how elements are connected to one another, Flow also automatically records how much time was spent creating a file, as well as creates snapshots of projects and the elements that went into creating them. A visual search feature can reveal layer names, plug-ins, fonts and colors used in a file.
Flow will be available for both Mac OS X Tiger and Leopard and Windows XP and Vista. Pricing is $349 per seat.
