NEW YORK – Redrover (www.redrover. net) in Toronto created the animated Lil Red spot for Moviefone out of Mad Dogs and Englishmen. The spot is a new spin on the fable Little Red Riding Hood. Redrover created the classically styled animation but with a twisted edge, exaggerating the wolf’s grandma costume, including balloons for breasts, making Red Riding Hood thoroughly annoying with her constant questions and placing a bound and gagged graffitti-sprayed rabbit under the bed.
Director Andy Knight drew all of the characters by hand and the backgrounds were painted by hand. Redrover animated the movement with USAnimation, added a pattern on the background wallpaper with Photoshop and edited the project using an Avid system.
