LONDON – The British Film Editors have revealed the nominees for the Chris Crookall Award for Breakthrough Editor, and the Michael Johns Award for Outstanding Assistant Editor. Members have until February 9th to vote on the 10 film editing categories in the organization’s Cut Above Awards (www.britishfilmeditors.co.uk/awards). Winners will be revealed during a live stream from the awards ceremony in Central London at 8pm on February 16th.
“We are excited for our 4th BFE Cut Above Awards,” states Renée Edwards, BFE chair. “The pace at which BFE is growing and the increasing level of support and spotlighting we are able to bring to our craft is something we’ve long dreamed of.”
This year, the BFE Cut Above Awards host will be actress, writer and editor Poppy Roe. Roe edited the critically-acclaimed dark-comedy movie A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life (Sky Cinema UK, Showtime US), in which she also starred.
