Burchill began her career as an assistant at Consulate in New York, and became a staff editor in 1992. While there, she worked on a variety of projects, including the feature film Rhythm Thief, music videos directed by Gus Van Sant and Larry Clark, and commercials for AT&T, L’Oreal, Got Milk, and Bank of America.
