Prior to his time at NBC, Kolpack was an in-house VFX supervisor/producer for The Post Group, where he worked on Scooby Doo2 and HBO’s The Life & Death of Peter Sellers. He started in the film industry back in 1985. Early on, he worked with Joe Pytka’s commercial production company, Pytka, as the company’s VFX supervisor and head of post production. In 1995, Kolpack worked on Batman Forever with John Dykstra, where he was given the responsibility of completing the show’s screening composites. He also worked with director Adam Shankman on The Wedding Planner. In 1996, Kolpack opened his own company, Perfx, where he produced VFX for Visa, Lockheed/Martin, AT&T, Cadillac, HBO, Nike, Cap’n Crunch, Ford and Weight Watchers. While still with Perfx, he completed composite work on New Line Cinema’s Blade and Rush Hour, as well as the main title design for Centropolis’ Godzilla in 1998.
