SAN FRANCISCO – Digital Anarchy (www.digitalanarchy.com) launched an update to its realtime skin retouching application for video editors. Beauty Box V.6.5 adds a new filter for eye and teeth whitening that uses machine learning to identify those areas. In addition to shine removal, these new features allow editors to harness the power of Beauty Box’s traditional algorithms, along with AI, to create a better-looking, more sophisticated image.
All of Beauty Box’s AI features run locally on the user’s machine. Nothing gets uploaded to the cloud, which means faster renders and safer data. The whiten feature uses AI to identify eyes, mouth and teeth, creating a mask that lets editors apply color adjustments to only those areas. The GPU Inference Engine powers the new features by handling the heavy lifting of translating what is in the AI models to what gets rendered in the video editing apps.
Addition improvements have been made for face detection, helping with accuracy and consistency that results in better tracking of one face when there are multiple people. Lastly, AI masks can be converted to masks in After Effects, allowing the editor to make adjustments in order to customize results.
Beauty Box V.6.5 is available immediately and is designed for Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Resolve and Avid editors. Pricing is $199 for new licenses, $99 for upgrades from V.5.0, and $149 for upgrades from earlier versions.
