Kindred began her career at Fairbanks Films in New York, and has also worked with Iris Films and as a freelance live action producer. To expand her skills in the effects and animation arenas, she became production manager at R/GA’s Savoy Films and eventually took on the role of production manager for the effects company R/Greenberg Associates. Her expertise in live action and effects lead her to Charlex, where she had a seven-year run as executive producer.
