NEW YORK – Red Car, here, recently completed editorial on Nike’s latest spot starring Michael Jordan and filmmaker Spike Lee as Mars Blockman. Yes Mars features Lee on the phone with Jordan, grilling the NBA star on whether or not his recent retirement announcement is true.
The Wieden & Kennedy-conceived spot was shot throughout Brooklyn by Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, with Lee himself directing. Red Car’s Rob Watzke cut the spot with Dan Aronin assisting.
Victor Mulholland of Company 3 in New York City served as colorist on the spot and Red Car’s Joe Wenkoff handled the online. Rex Recker at Audio Engine in lower Manhattan mixed the commercial.
