MIAMI – 2C Creative (www.2c.tv), here, recently helped Velocity launch an all-new season of their popular show Wheeler Dealers. The promo features master mechanic Mike Brewer and automobile evaluation expert Edd China cruising in a classic Corvette and arriving at their own red-carpet event, complete with adoring fans and paparazzi.
The show debuted in 2003 and is now in its 13th season, airing Wednesday nights on Velocity. In each episode, Edd tracks down a potential classic, ultimately passing it on to Mike for either an upgrade or restoration. Edd then finds a buyer, selling the car for a profit.
2C worked closely with Velocity to transform the Wheeler Dealers garage into the scene of a star-studded Hollywood premiere. Shots of Edd and Mike in the Corvette were captured using an Ultimate Arm, a gyroscopically stabilized jib crane mounted to the top of a Mercedes SUV.
The spot was created in :60, :30 and :15 versions. 2C Creative’s Pablo Coig edited the promos and Dmitri Zavyazkin served as colorist/VFX artist. Outside collaborators included DP Chuck Ozeas and mixer Cesar Haliwa.
