VANCOUVER, BC - Hybrid production company Global Mechanic Media (www.globalmechanic.com) recently completed an animated piece for Bensimon Byrne and their client Scotia Bank. The goal was to create an entertaining series of illustrations that would keep viewers engaged while discussing the sometimes dry topic of investment banking. "Let the Savings Begin" is part of an online program and runs more than two minutes. A live-action hand is shown quickly creating a series of line drawings on a white board with a black marker. The imagery represents typical investment scenarios, questions and reservations, and limited color is used, drawn from the Scotia Bank palette, to highlight answers and smart decisions. The imagery is closely synced with a female voiceover, whose verbal cues direct the storyboard. Bruce Alcock served as creative director and Nathaniel Akin was animation director. The Global Mechanic Media crew included a team of designers, compositors and animators.
