UNION EDITORIAL LAUNCHES

SANTA MONICA, CA - Union Editorial (www.unioneditorial.com) has opened its doors, offering creative editorial services to the television advertising community. Michael Raimondi, Werner Mayes and Ron Moler are all co-founders in the company, with Raimondi also acting as executive producer.

The studio is currently working out of interim offices in Santa Monica, while construction is underway on a 10,000-square foot space in West Los Angeles. The new space will be equipped with five Mac OSX-based Avid Adrenaline systems running on an Avid Unity network, making Union one of the first facilities to adopt Avid's new NLE. The studio will also feature Softimage|DS HD, which will be operated by artist Todd Iorio, who will provide online and effects services. Audio services will come via a Digidesign Pro Tools|HD3 system operated by Josh Eichenbaum. The studio's talent roster also includes producer Megan Dahlman; editors Nico Alba, Einar, Jay Friedkin and Ira Klien; and veteran editor Rye Dahlman.

Co-founders Mayes and Raimondi worked together for several years at Santa Monica-based editorial facility Harley's House, as did much of the team that's joined Union.

"In developing this new company, we strived to create an atmosphere where everyone has a stake, where each person participates in our success," explains Raimondi. "Our editors are assisting in designing their own bays, and everything from new hires to the company logo design are voted on by consensus. That's why it made so much sense to name this venture Union."
