HOLLYWOOD - Visual effects shop Eden FX has completed the work on more than 200 visual effects for the upcoming feature film "Hellboy." Effects range from set extensions to CG character enhancements and many have already been incorporated into the teaser trailer used to promote the film.
"Hellboy" is being released by Revolution Studios and is set to open on April 2. The film is based on the popular comic book by Mike Mignola and stars Ron Perlman as a demon conjured up by Nazis during World War II, who opts to serve the cause of good rather than evil.
Eden FX worked with director Guillermo del Toro ("Blade 2," "Cronos," "The Devil's Backbone," "Mimic,") and visual effects supervisor Edward Irastorza ("Blade," "Blade II," "Cats & Dogs", "Dungeons and Dragons," "Hercules" and "Xena") on the project.
