AUTODESK TO ACQUIRE COLORFRONT

LAS VEGAS - San Rafael, CA-based Autodesk has announced plans to acquire the assets of Colorfront Ltd., the developer of color correction technology for film studios and digital film labs. The $15M deal brings expertise in film lab processes, digital post, color science, image processing and hardware platform optimization to Autodesk and will be completed within the next 45 days.

Colorfront, based in Budapest, Hungary, worked with Autodesk (www.autodesk.com) to co-develop the Discreet Lustre digital color grading system. Introduced in 2003, Lustre has been used on "The Polar Express," "The Phantom of the Opera," "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Master and Commander."
