ABC MOCKUMENTARY PROMOTES 'STEPHEN KING' SPECIAL

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Met/Hodder and Digital Bucket recently teamed up to produce and post a mockumentary special designed to promote ABC's broadcast of "Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital." The half-hour special, titled "Investigating Kingdom Hospital: The Journals of Eleanor Druse," focuses on the fictional character Eleanor Druse and her journals, which were kept while she investigated Kingdom Hospital, the supposed site of paranormal activity.

The project marked the second time Met/Hodder produced a special based on a Hyperion book/Stephen King television event. The studio also produced "Unlocking Rose Red: The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer." In the case of "Eleanor Druse," Met/Hodder wrote and produced the special, which involved coming up with all of the elements that would be associated with an investigation. News footage, Web sites, documents, press clippings , interviews, testimonials and eerie footage all help add authenticity the project.

Digital Bucket posted the special using an Avid Media Composer 9000 for the offline and an Avid Symphony for the online. The studio also handled effects and animation using a combination of LightWave 3D and Adobe's After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop applications. Audio was posted using a Digidesign Pro Tools|HD system.

The project aired on ABC and was also viewable online at abc.com.
