Western Digital boost capacity across professional storage portfolio

SAN JOSE, CA - Western Digital (www.westerndigital.com) has unveiled higher capacities across its professional product suite. Solutions now feature enterprise-class, 26TB Ultrastar 7,200 RPM HDDs for high performance, reliability and fast read/write speeds.

The 208TB G-RAID Shuttle 8 ($8,199.99) is a transportable, eight-bay hardware RAID solution designed for massive storage and seamless backup consolidation, be it on location or in the studio. The unit supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, and delivers  transfer speeds of up to 1,700MB/s read and 1,500MB/s write in default RAID 5. The solution includes eight removable enterprise-class HDDs and can be daisy-chained with up to five additional devices. Other products in the portfolio include the 104TB G-RAID Shuttle 4 ($4,499.99), 52TB G-RAID Project 2 ($1,699.99), 26TB G-DRIVE Project ($999.99) and 26TB G-DRIVE ($649.99).

Western Digital has also introduced the 26TB WD Red Pro HDD ($569.99), which is designed to address the growing storage demands of NAS environments by delivering enhanced performance, scalability and reliability for high-intensity workloads in multi-bay, RAID-optimized systems. The new model is rated for up to 550TB/year workloads and is equipped with OptiNAND technology for improved data tracking and efficiency.
