LOS ANGELES - The Advanced Imaging Society recently announced that it is canceling its annual Lumiere Awards. The awards were set to take place on February 7th, recognizing outstanding international achievement in the creation of immersive storytelling using advanced visual technologies.
The following is the official statement from the organization, which was founded in 2009.
"In light of our community’s immediate needs to support those affected by the tragedies of the last week, your leadership has cancelled our Lumiere Awards scheduled for February 7th at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
"In the last few days, we have been shocked to learn of friends and members who’ve been devastated, but also heartened to hear stories of many of our members opening their homes to those in need of housing. Many others are supporting fundraising efforts to support those in need. We want to support these priorities at this time.
"AIS has a long tradition of honoring our members brilliant creative work. We will keep you updated as we know more in the coming days."
Sincerely,
The Advanced Imaging Society
