MTI Film adds automation improvements to dailies & restoration tools

LOS ANGELES - At April's NAB Show in Last Vegas, MTI Film (https://mtifilm.com) is unveiling new features for its flagship dailies and restoration tools - Cortex V.6.0 and DRS Nova. At the heart of this year’s showcase are the new MTai SlateDetect and MTai FrameConvert tools, both of which represent breakthroughs in automation intelligence designed to dramatically streamline post production. These tools seamlessly integrate into Cortex V.6.0’s enhanced workflow actions, enabling significant time savings and precision across editorial and finishing pipelines.

For dailies, in conjunction with MTai SlateDetect, Cortex V.6.0 also introduces automation with Avid, including automatic Avid bin creation and media subclipping, further simplifying editorial prep workflows and reducing manual labor during the dailies creation process. Paired with the Nova Paint module, these MTai tools provide a foundation for generative AI clean-up workflows, offering artists intelligent assistance in image repair, versioning and content refinement.

On the restoration front, DRS Nova V.6.0 now incorporates MTai FrameGen, delivering AI-based frame reconstruction to restore missing or damaged frames. This new capability adds to an already deep toolset that restoration professionals worldwide rely on.

In addition to Cortex Enterprise, MTI Film will be offering Cortex Dailies featuring MTai SlateDetect, and now enabled with Avid Editorial automation, at a special 10 percent discount during NAB 2025. This limited-time offer is an opportunity for facilities to integrate automation intelligence into their dailies workflows and experience firsthand the time-saving benefits of Cortex V.6.0.

“We’re excited to show how MTai is transforming real-world workflows,” says Brian Gaffney, VP of product at MTI Film. “From automation to AI-powered cleanup and restoration, these tools are making a measurable impact in both speed and quality.”
