Harbor signs French colorist Karim El Katari

NEW YORK CITY - Harbor (harborpicturecompany.com) recently signed Paris-based colorist Karim El Katari, whose work is known for his avant-garde vision and ability to elevate storytelling through color. El Katari has contributed to a number of Cannes-nominated films, high-profile restorations and commercial campaigns for globally-renowned brands.

El Katari began his career in Paris in 2010 at Éclair Laboratories, where he benefited from the historic and competitive environment of one of France’s most renowned post houses. There, he honed his skills for color timing and the photochemical process, a foundation that's allowed him to blend analog expertise with digital approaches.

“I am honored to be part of such an impressive group of creatives at Harbor," says El Katari. "I chose Harbor for two key reasons: its unwavering commitment to excellence for both clients and artists, and its strong culture of collaboration among colorists and cross-discipline artists. The energy and vision at Harbor are truly inspiring, and I’m eager for the work ahead.”

El Katari's credits include Asghar Farhadi’s The Past, a Palme d’Or nominee at Cannes, and the Camerimage-recognized series Germinal. He also contributed to the long-form releases To Catch a Killer (FilmNation), Message from the King (Netflix), and One Nation, One King (Studio Canal). On the restoration side, El Katari has worked on Wim Wenders' Paris, Texas and Jean-Jacques Annaud's The Bear, as well as on the Tony Scott-directed Warner Bros./Metropolitan film, True Romance. His commercial highlights include work for luxury brands L’Oréal, Maison Margiela and Cartier.
