LOS ANGELES - Folks (www.folksvfx.com), a Pitch Black company, has rebranded FuseFX. The two sister brands within Pitch Black have been working closely over the past four years, sharing projects, aligning creative process and unifying pipelines. They will now consolidate under one brand, reflecting the natural evolution of the partnership.
Pitch Black's visual effects studios include Folks, Rising Sun Pictures, and El Ranchito. The company has 13 studio locations worldwide and is majority-owned by investment funds managed by EagleTree Capital. The studio has a new Burbank, CA, office that puts them in the hub of the entertainment industry.
“Folks presence in the United States is an incredible opportunity to work with top-tier talent, drive innovation and build lasting partnerships like never before," states Amélie Poitras, president of Folks. "We cannot wait to deepen our relationships with our clients by being on the ground and by working closely with the talented people who are driving the future of the VFX industry. We are very excited about what is to come."
To drive the growing presence in the US, Folks named Johnny Fisk executive vice president. A Los Angeles native with decades of experience in VFX and animation, Fisk has spent his career at the heart of the entertainment world, most recently as president of FuseFX. His leadership and deep-rooted connections will be instrumental in driving Folks' growth.
“Folks is now better equipped to provide efficient, seamless VFX services that meet the highest standards for their clients across the globe," notes Sébastien Bergeron, CEO of Pitch Black. "This is just the beginning of an exciting year as we continually evolve Pitch Black’s global creative capabilities across our 13 locations and brands...We cannot wait to see where it takes us.”
