SAN JOSE, CA - Adobe (adobe.com) recently launched Generative Extend in Premiere Pro, a feature that uses AI to generate and expand the length of video and audio clips. The company also introduced Media Intelligence, an AI-powered tool designed for quickly finding specific clips in large volume of footage quickly.
Generative Extend is powered by the Firefly Video Model and is safe for commercial use, allowing editors to extend video in 4K and in vertical orientation, as well as audio, helping to cover gaps in footage. Since its beta launch in October of 2024, Adobe says its users have been applying Generative Extend to extend B-roll footage to match narration timing and stretch establishing shots to create breathing room in fast-paced sequences.
The AI-powered Media Intelligence feature in Premiere Pro helps change how editors interact with their project footage and can help deliver considerable time savings. Instead of manual searches, Media Intelligence automatically recognizes clip content – including objects, locations, camera
angles or metadata – so editors can quickly find what they need.
Additional improvements to Premiere Pro include AI-powered caption translation, which can translate subtitles into 27 different languages in seconds. New color management tools offer higher fidelity and more consistent color than before, automatically transforming log footage from most cameras into HDR and SDR. This will enable editors to get started faster while realizing perfect skin tones, more vibrant color and improved dynamic range.
