Ticket VFX brings together three Canadian studios

TORONTO — Ticket VFX (http://ticketvfx.com) is a new strategic collaboration between Krow VFX, Torpedo Pictures and Tryptyc. Collectively, the group will leverage their roster of talent, VFX leadership and state-of-the-art pipelines to deliver high-end visual effects.

Leading Ticket VFX is chief operating officer Bob Munroe and executive VP/head of studio Samara Melanson. The combined effort's senior leadership team boasts over 50 film and television credits, and the team of VFX supervisors and on-set VFX supervisors has a combined 60-plus years of leadership experience. Together, the studios will now be able to take on larger projects, as well as streamline access to Ontario and Canadian tax credits.

“Having our three VFX studios join forces provides an instant, larger pool of excellent talent while reducing overall expenses," explains Ticket VFX's Leo Bovell, who is also co-founder of Tryptyc. "Most notable is the exciting brain-meld of a rich team of VFX wizards who together innovate, create and problem-solve, giving us an important competitive edge in this current challenging and changing VFX landscape. Also, combining our talents in a flexible hybrid/remote setting and merging our pipelines positions us to create stunning, seamless VFX for larger projects while still allowing us to remain extremely nimble with the ability to expand and contract as needed."

Talent among the three facilities have contributed projects that include The Boys, Halo, John Wick, Lovecraft Country, A Man Called Otto, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Expanse, Lady in the Lake and What We Do In The Shadows. Philanthropy is also rooted in Ticket VFX's mission statement. The company plans to donate significant time and resources to mentorship efforts to underserved communities, as well as make regular donations.
