VANCOUVER - Full service audio production and recording facility Koko Productions (www.kokoproductions.com) recently announced that Thea Baturin has become the studio’s sole owner. The announcement positions Koko as one of the few fully woman-owned audio production facilities in Canada.
Baturin has been with Koko since 2002 and was previously a partner and the company’s chief operating officer. The move follows a shift in the recording business to remote work as a result of the pandemic. Under Baturin's leadership, Koko its working to move back to in-person recording and mixing.
“I’m proud to take the helm at Koko and lead a team that sees sound differently,” says Baturin, who will now serve as both owner & CEO. “Our team mixes experience and experimentation to help our clients produce ground-breaking work.”
Koko was established in 1977 and currently spans 6,000 square feet, with six studios. The facility is equipped for Dolby Atmos/5.1 surround sound work. Its largest studio can seat up to 10 clients, while its 620-square-foot live room can accommodate up to 12 actors.
