LOS ANGELES - Pitch Black (pitchblackcompany.com), the parent company of visual effects studios FuseFX, Folks, Rising Sun Pictures and El Ranchito, has appointed Manuel Ramírez president of El Ranchito (elranchito.es). He takes over for co-founder Félix Bergés and will manage the studio's daily operations while continuing to position Spain as a central hub for visual effects. Bergés, who was instrumental in the studio’s growth and international acclaim, will transition to an advisory role while continuing to support the company’s development and strategic direction.
Ramírez’s career in the VFX industry spans more than 20 years. He was most recently studio director for several years, playing a crucial role in driving both the creative and operational success of El Ranchito. He joined the company in 2015 to establish and lead the effects department, and over time, took on additional responsibilities as head of VFX, managing operations, research & development, and pipeline development.
