LOS ANGELES — Brazilian editor Mah Ferraz has founded Church (edit.church), a “congregation” of globally-minded editors who are inspired by culture, trends, diversity and innovation. Ferraz has over 70 awards to date for her editing work, including accolades and nominations from Cannes Lions, D&AD, Webby Awards, Clio Awards, VMAs, AICP, The One Show, Berlin Commercial and Ciclope.
Ferraz’s brand clients include Meta, Apple, Nike, Coca-Cola, Spotify, Visa, Calvin Klein, Google, Puma, and AmEx. She has also collaborated with Doja Cat, Rosalía, Megan Thee Stallion, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, A$AP Rocky and Lil Nas X.
Church will run as an artist-driven house that champions the nuances of creative workflow, favoring holistic collaboration that produces elite and impactful work. Church leans into change, bucking against existing structures to challenge antiquated thoughts of post production.
“Church is an extension and expansion of my DNA and vision,” says Ferraz. “We’re building a post house with a global perspective, incredible talent and inspiring culture. My partners and I are creating a team that is as excited and inspired by the vision, and I believe that if the change comes from the top, it trickles down and is contagious. Church’s office will be a safe space for everyone who wants to feel inspired and find community. As a Latin woman and part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I also want to welcome, promote and give visibility to people and matters I relate to and are close to my heart. We’re creating our own ‘church,’ but encouraging everyone to feel like it’s theirs too.”
