Maeve Russell named head of production at Imaginarium Studios

LONDON – Imaginarium Studios (imaginariumstudios.co.uk) has appointed Maeve Russell head of production. She will work out of both company facilities at Pinewood Studios and Cinesite’s offices in central London.

Russell's immediate focus at the mocap and performance-capture facility will be to provide production leadership, managing multiple shoots across games, film, music and TV. She comes to the studio from Beyond Capture, where she was vice president, having previously worked her way up from production coordinator, right through to head of production, before being appointed VP.

Russell has worked across a range of genres, from blockbuster movies, high-end episodic shows and tentpole games. She started out in production in Web Summit, producing tech conferences around the world, and then migrated into the industry as a production assistant, working on shows such as Supergirl and the Babysitter’s Club. Recent productions under her leadership include Resident Evil 4, New Tales from the Borderlands and  Hogwarts Legacy.

“I’m so excited about joining the team," says Russell. "They are a super-talented bunch with a true focus on producing the best performances possible. There is a genuinely good vibe about the studio. It feels like an exciting time to be part of it. Working hard with nice people creating great work – you can’t ask for anything more.”

Imaginarium Studios was formed in 2012 by actor/director Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes and Star Wars franchises) as a standalone facility focused on performance-led capture and virtual production services. In June, the studio announced that it had opened a third volume within the Side Studio 1 booth in central London.
