LONDON — Creative editorial company Final Cut (www.finalcut-edit.com) has promoted Leah Burton to its roster of editors. Born in Belfast and raised mostly in Australia, Burton returned to the UK in 2012 to study film. Shortly thereafter, she got her start in post production, serving as a runner at the Fitzrovia-based edit house. She absorbed all she could about the craft while assisting editors Joe Guest and Amanda James, and put that experience to work on her own projects across short films, music videos and branded content.
Some of her commercial clients include British Airways, Dr. Martens, Concern Worldwide, Formula 1 and On Running. Christmas 2023 saw Burton cut a number of social films for John Lewis’ festive campaign. In the world of music videos, she has worked with artists such as Maverick Sabre, Olivia Dean and Maisie Peters.
“I'm so excited to be joining a group of editors that are not only some of the world’s most talented, but also the loveliest and most supportive bunch of people,” she states. “Final Cut has been such a family to me. Taking this next step in my career, I couldn't ask for a nicer home.”
In addition to London, Final Cut has offices in New York and Los Angeles.
“It's always such an exciting time to promote homegrown talent to the roster,” notes Final Cut executive producer Michelle Corney. “Leah has a fresh and expressive style, and is extremely dedicated to the craft. She's also an absolute joy to be around! Can't wait to see what this next chapter in her editing career brings.”
