LOS ANGELES — Ghost VFX (www.ghostvfx.com) has appointed Julian Levi executive vice president, North America. A key addition to the studio’s executive leadership team, Levi will play a pivotal role in the strategic direction and growth for Ghost VFX on a global scale. He is based in Los Angeles, and will oversee the studio’s talent, technology and services, while also working closely with other members of the executive team, including for collaborations with Ingenuity Studios.
Levi’s career spans 30 years and includes work with directors Ron Howard, Clint Eastwood, Roland Emmerich, Gareth Edwards, and Joel and Ethan Coen. His experience covers a long list of feature films, including early involvement on Braveheart and The Last Action Hero during the outset of his career at R/Greenberg Associates.
Following that, Levi was a senior VFX producer at Digital Domain for more than 12 years for such films as O Brother Where Art Thou?, The Day After Tomorrow, Stealth, Speed Racer, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Flags of Our Fathers. After Digital Domain, Levi served as executive producer at MPC, with representative films that included Godzilla, X-Men: First Class, Prometheus, Life of Pi, The Jungle Book and Guardians of the Galaxy. During his time at MPC, he also served as general manager.
Levi was appointed interim vice president of VFX at Paramount Pictures after his time with MPC. Most recently, he was overall production VFX producer for The Creator at New Regency Productions.
