Electric XR launches for virtual production in Brooklyn & Hudson Valley

BROOKLYN, NY - Schrom x Yacht Club (https://www.schrom.com), the full-service live-action, tabletop and post production company, recently teamed up with Be Electric Studios (https://www.beelectric.tv), a soundstage, equipment rental and virtual production company, to launch Electric XR (https://www.xr-ny.com), a new virtual production collective. In addition to using the technology on their own productions, Schrom x Yacht Club offers virtual production stage rentals and workflow solutions to third-party productions under the banner of XR New York. With this collaboration between XR-NY and Be Electric, Electric XR will offer advanced virtual production solutions across multiple facilities.

Tom Rossano (pictured) of XR New York will lead the new venture in an expanded role with Electric XR, bringing over 25 years of experience in live-action, tabletop, post production and talent curation. In addition to leading Electric XR, his role at Schrom x Yacht Club includes driving business development, collaborating with sales reps and expanding the company’s creative talent network. His career includes serving as EP role at Hungry Man since its inception, and as a partner at Station Film. He has produced high profile campaigns for ESPN Sports Center, Progressive, Febreeze, Burger King and Mercedes.

After years of collaboration, Yacht Club officially joined forces with Schrom in 2023, combining their talent and resources to offer a comprehensive approach to live-action, tabletop, CGI and still photography projects, spanning everything from broadcast to social media content. XR New York is their virtual production venture, allowing the company to provide virtual production stage rentals and workflow solutions beyond their own productions. As part of Electric XR, their 35,000-square-foot facility in Nyack, NY, will offer two LED stages: One is a dedicated XR stage with a 50-foot-wide LED volume wall, while the second is a flexible stage with a movable 15-foot by 10-foot LED wall that's well suited for tabletop, inserts and talking heads. Be Electric Studios operates a 10,000-square-foot facility in Brooklyn that features a fully soundproofed 50-foot-wide LED volume.
