Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, Nick Gilberg approaches his projects from a worldly vantage point, with influences that span from filmmaker Stanley Kubrick to new-media pioneer Bill Viola. Over his career, Gilberg has won Clios, Cannes and a D&AD Wood Pencil, as well as been recognized at the London Fashion Film Festival. Some of his credits include work on the country of Dubai’s A Romance to Remember spot, which starred Zac Efron and Jessica Alba. He also contributed to Taylor Swift’s Me!, as well as to Jif’s
The Return ad in which Ludacris morphs into a superhero.
Marc Thomas, by contrast, is a born-and-bred New Yorker who got his start cutting reels and music videos. He went on to work at agencies such as JWT, BBDO, Y&R, and Droga5. Among his credits are Common and Stevie Wonder’s docu-video Black America Again. He was also a creative force behind Meta’s
Black History Told By… series.
