LOS ANGELES — The Cinema Audio Society (cinemaaudiosociety.org) has announced the timeline for the 61st Annual CAS Awards, which will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Every year, the CAS Awards recognize outstanding sound mixing in seven film and television categories. A Student Recognition Award is also presented. Recipients for the CAS Career Achievement Award and CAS Filmmaker Award will be announced later in the year.
“Sound plays an integral and often under-recognized part in the way we view and consume today’s media,” says CAS president, Peter Kurland. “We take great pride in celebrating outstanding sound and look forward to honoring the mixers involved with the exceptional projects of 2024 at the 61st CAS Awards. The entry submission form will be available online on Thursday, October 17th on the CAS website. Entries are due at 5pm (PST), Tuesday, December 3rd. Nomination ballot voting begins online on Tuesday, December 17th and ends at 5pm (PST) on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Final nominees in each category will be announced on Tuesday, January 7th. The nominee listing error and omission deadline is Friday, January 17th. Final voting will begins on Thursday, January 30th, and will end on Tuesday, February 11th. The 61st Annual CAS Awards will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
