LONDON - The Association of Motion Picture Sound (www.amps.net) has announced the contenters for its “Excellence in Sound for a Feature Film” award. This year’s nominees are Barbie;
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One;
Oppenheimer;
Saltburn; and
The Zone of Interest.
Final voting will start on January 15th and close on January 25th. In addition to supervising crew members, AMPS honors key 1st assistant sound/boom operators and supervising dialogue/ADR editors.
"The nominees showcase a remarkable blend of creativity and technical mastery,” states AMPS chair, Andrew Wilson “These exceptional films highlight the varied and dynamic landscape of the craft of sound in film. Each presents distinct audio demands executed to a fantastic degree, making the decision for AMPS voters a truly challenging one.”
Winners will be announced on January 27th. The UK-based craft guild is made up of over 550 creative talents working in the fields of film, TV and games. The AMPS Awards are dedicated to advancing the organization’s mission of celebrating excellence in sound and fostering the growth of the next generation.
