HOLLYWOOD — Submissions are now being accepted for the 60th Annual Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Awards (www.cinemaaudiosociety.com), which will be presented on March 2, 2024. The CAS Awards honor Outstanding Achievements in Sound Mixing across seven categories. Nominees and winners will be recognized in the categories of “Motion Pictures – Live Action,” “Motion Pictures – Animated,” “Motion Pictures – Documentary,” “Non-Theatrical Motion Pictures or Limited Series,” “Television Series – One Hour,” “Television Series – Half Hour” and “Television Non-Fiction, Variety or Music – Series or Specials.”
A Student Recognition Award will also be presented, and the CAS Filmmaker Honoree will be announced later in the year. Multi-award winning sound mixer Joe Earle, CAS, (American Horror Story, Six Feet Under), will be honored with the CAS Career Achievement Award.
All entries must be received by 5pm (PST) on Thursday, November 30th. Additionally, applications for the CAS Student Recognition Award are due by 5pm (PST) on Monday, November 13th.
The CAS Award nominees are chosen by sound mixers, who recognize excellence in the craft of sound mixing for film and television. This year's awards ceremony – set to take place March 2, 2024 — marks the event's return to the Beverly Hilton for the first time in 25 years.
Nomination ballot voting begins online December 19th and ends on January 2nd. Final nominees in each category will be announced January 9th. Voting begins online on February 8th and ends on February 20th.
