LOS ANGELES — The Den (https://thedeneditorial.com), the women-owned, bi-coastal editorial house, recently welcomed Cami Starkman to their roster of editors. A native of Los Angeles, Starkman’s work is vivid and versatile, spanning commercials, documentaries, music videos, feature films and numerous shorts.
A graduate of AFI’s MFA film editing program, Starkman edited the Emmy Award-winning documentary Tending The Wild, as well as an Emmy-nominated spot for KCET’s Artbound series highlighting MOCA. In addition to editing three feature films and numerous shorts, she has cut music videos for Katy Perry, Solange, Eminem, Nick Jonas, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez. On the commercial side, her credits include work for Savage x Fenty with Rihanna, HBO, Valentino, Balmain, Olay, Lyft, Alaska Airlines, Vogue and Stella McCartney.
“I’ve been editing since I was making videos as alternatives to class projects,” says Starkman. “There, I truly fell in love with the art of film and video. Working in post feels empowering and ultra-creative as I’m one of the last hands in a team of artists to touch a project before it becomes final. I’m thrilled to be joining The Den’s unique and amazing team.”
“Cami’s edits have a refined quality to them,” notes Vic Palumbo, managing director of The Den. “Whether it be on a large commercial brand’s ad campaign or a high concept music video, her cuts are always elegant, provocative and motivated by story. She has an amazing eye and we’re thrilled to have her on our team.”
