PARK CITY, UT — In the live-action short Appendage, a young fashion designer must make the best of it when her anxiety and self-doubt physically manifest into something horrific. The film stars Rachel Sennott and Eric Roberts, and was directed by Anna Zlokovic.
Alex Familian (IG: @alexjfam) edited the project, which screened recently at the Sundance Film Festival as part of its 2022 Short Films program.
“Appendage was made in partnership with 20th Digital Studios and Hulu as part of their Bite Size Halloween series,” he recalls. “We cut the film on a 2019 Mac Pro with Premiere Pro. Using dynamic link with After Effects, we were able to incorporate VFX directly into our cuts, including CGI eye replacement on our creature (shoutout to CC Sphere) — which was vital to our story.”
