NEW YORK CITY — Boutique post production shop Wax (www.wax.tv), with offices in New York and Boston, has added Maggie Sloane to its roster of editors. Sloan started her career as an intern at VFX house Ntropic before moving on to Beast Editorial, where she worked her way up to an assistant editor. She later moved on to Friendshop and N06, quickly advancing to an editor position.
Throughout her career, Sloan has worked on a number of projects for distinguished agencies, including McCann, Ogilvy and BBDO, editing projects for clients such as Verizon and Microsoft, to name a few. Some of her favorite work includes Annovera’s Vagina Appreciation with Whitney Cummings for McCann, CDW’s People Who Get It for Ogilvy and Visa’s Everywhere You Want To Be for BBDO. Most recently she has worked on Jungle Cruise and En Route for Disney/ESPN, and Microsoft’s Brings You Closer to What You Love spot.
“I have been attracted to film and loved editing since I was an adolescent,” says Sloan. “After my internship at Ntropic, I discovered that I could in fact turn this hobby into a career. There are many things that I enjoy about editing, but I am most attracted to the process of solving ‘the puzzle.’ What makes editing even more special to me is that it's a collaborative process. So many people made that :30 spot possible. I've always felt it is way more fun solving these puzzles together.”
“Maggie’s varied experience complements the team at Wax perfectly,” adds Toni Lipari, Wax’s founder. “She is able to elevate any story through editing, giving it an artistic flair and successfully adding a comedic feel to it. It is so exciting to see a woman with such a strong comedy background thriving in an incredibly male-dominated genre. We are all thrilled to have her on board.”
