LONDON — Framestore (https://www.framestore.com) has announced that Kamen Markov will join their London advertising team as creative director. He has been a respected player in the VFX world for years, collecting accolades for work that includes Cravendale's Cats with Thumbs, which reached over 10 million YouTube views; John Lewis & Partners
The Boy and the Piano, which won more than 15 VFX awards globally; and Lego’s
Rebuild The World campaign, which was nominated for outstanding VFX at VES.
“We are delighted to count Kamen Markov as a team member at Framestore,” says executive creative director William Bartlett. “His passion and experience for VFX will be infectious. As a key hire for us at an integral point of growth in our department, I can’t wait to see where his vision will take us and the boundaries he will break with his work.”
Markov started his career as a motion graphic designer for TV before going on to work as an editor and VFX artist for TopForm Studio in his hometown of Bulgaria. He then relocated to Mexico City, where he began working at The FilterFX, and quickly built a name for himself, collaborating with some of the top advertising directors around. Markov later moved to London, joining MPC, where he worked as a VFX supervisor and lead compositor on several award-winning projects.
“My style of work can be defined by a constant drive for closer and early collaboration with agencies and directors,” explains Markov. “I’m incredibly excited to continue my journey with Framestore, which is a powerhouse in VFX, and I can’t wait to learn from the award-winning talent within the studio whilst also bringing my unique experience to the team.”
