FORT WORTH, TX — Filmsupply kicked off Edit Fest 2022 today, encouraging storytellers to showcase their craft while competing to win over $50,000 in prizes. The 30-day editing competition runs through July 7th and gives participants access to Filmsupply’s full footage catalog of cinematic footage, along with a curated Musicbed playlist. Using these assets, participants are tasked with creating and submitting a spec piece for one of three categories: Advertisement, Movie Trailer or Title Sequence.
Starter kits are free and available for download. Voting for People’s Choice will run from July 11th until July 21st. Category winners will be announced July 28th, each selected by a panel of industry-leading judges. Judges will score submitted edits based on the following criteria: concept, storytelling, emotion and craft. When judging concludes, Filmsupply will announce winners for Best Advertisement, Best Movie Trailer and Best Title Sequence. They will also reveal 2022’s People’s Choice recipient.
