LONDON — FilmLight recently announced a call for submissions for its second annual Colour Awards. This year’s Colour Awards will feature an expanded program, with more awards presented, including separate Music Video and Commercial categories. A Spotlight award is also being introduced, recognizing new and unsung talent who have demonstrated a contribution to the creative impact of a low-budget feature or television movie.

“At FilmLight we are proud to have instigated the Colour Awards, but they are very much part of the industry as a whole,” says FilmLight CEO, Wolfgang Lempp. “As well as EnergaCAMERIMAGE, the awards are actively supported by prominent international groups such as the ASC, BSC, AFC, Imago (the International Federation of Cinematographers) and CSI (Colorist Society International). As in 2021, this year’s programme will be independently judged by renowned directors, DoPs and colourists.”
The 2021 awards were presented at the EnergaCAMERIMAGE festival in Toruń, Poland, in November, with each winner given the chance to showcase their projects and talk about their work. The 2022 FilmLight Colour Awards will also culminate in presentations at this year’s EnergaCAMERIMAGE, the 30th year of the festival.
Nominations are now being actively sought. Details can be found online at:
www.filmlightcolourawards.com. The submission process began in May and will close on July 31st. A shortlist will be announced on October 10th, and the winners will be announced at EnergaCAMERIMAGE, which is set to take place from November 12 through the 19th.
