LOS ANGELES – Visual effects studio FuseFX (https://fusefx.com), which is affiliated with Folks VFX and Rising Sun Pictures, recently hired Robin Prybil as the company’s global director, strategic partnerships. She will act as a conduit to existing relationships, strengthen ties and trust with large studios and high-level executives, and cultivate new business relationships across the company’s nine studio locations.
Prybil brings more than 20 years of entertainment experience from working at some of the most prestigious studios in the industry, leading new business initiatives. She was instrumental in raising the profile for Peter Jackson’s Weta Digital in New Zealand as visual effects executive and head of new business. Among the many projects she helped bring in were Avatar, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and two films with Steven Spielberg — The Adventures of Tintin and The BFG. Additionally, she served as visual effects executive on X-Men: First Class, The Avengers, Prometheus, Man of Steel, The Jungle Book, Pete’s Dragon and The Hobbit trilogy.
“Robin brings deep industry experience to the table, and can build on existing relationships, as well as establish new studio connections to help the organization secure the most exciting projects being created,” says FuseFX CEO and founder, David Altenau. “Her presence will enable additional work in episodic content, further expand engagements in feature films, and procure fresh projects in emerging markets like virtual production.”
“I was immediately drawn in by FuseFX’s team-oriented atmosphere,” notes Prybil. “Each person’s contribution, whether it be large or small, onscreen or off, is appreciated and rewarded. While I have always admired FuseFX's excellent work, reputation for timeliness and innovation in the field, it is this facet of the company’s culture that I find most appealing, and is often the key to long-lasting success.”
