LONDON — Envy Advertising (https://envyadvertising.co.uk) has appointed Edwin Metternich senior colorist. The post house specializes in commercial, digital, branding and short-form work, providing services that include offline, grading, VFX, online and sound design.
Metternich began his career at Framestore, where he spent ten years rising through the ranks, moving from the digital intermediary department as a junior data lab operator to the role of junior colorist. He later relocated to Chicago to open the grading suite in Framestore’s newest studio. After working as a colorist on numerous high-profile projects, he returned to the UK in 2019 to work as a freelance colorist, collaborating with Glassworks and Envy Advertising. He now joins the team on a permanent basis.
“Envy has a great reputation and I feel privileged to be part of the team - I can’t wait to continue my journey as a commercial colorist,” says Metternich. “One of the things that excites me about Envy Advertising is the opportunity to learn new skills. For example, I’ve just completed my first HDR grade, and I was seriously impressed by the technically savvy approach they had. This multidisciplinary nature is a huge plus for me.”
Metternich’s credits include work for Gucci, Audi, L’Oreal, Burberry, Barclays, Google and Alpen. He has also worked on films, such as Jangbar and Bloodcells.
