NEW YORK CITY — Merritt Duff has joined the bicoastal Union (www.unioneditorial.com) as partner/editor. He is known for his work with Progressive, including their recent Progressive Halftime Show spot. Other recent credits include work for Frontier and Mastercard. He comes to the studio from Beast.
“Union is such a great fit for me,” says Duff of his new home. “I'm reminded of the quote from When Harry Met Sally: ‘I knew, the way you know about a good melon.’ Seriously, though, this place has a creative spirit and energy that I really respond to. Michael (Raimondi), Caryn (Maclean) and the sales team care tremendously about the work but also about the people who do it. They've been extremely passionate about my career and I'm truly excited to grow with them.”
A Colby College graduate, Duff had a six-year stint at SNL, where he was immersed in every aspect of his craft, from pre-production through post production, working primarily on the series’ commercial parodies. He turned his focus to editing in 2005, joinging the newly-launched boutique Cutting Room. There, he spent eleven years working with clients such as ESPN, FedEx, Adidas, Lowes and Progressive. He joined Beast’s New York office in 2016, focusing on commercial projects for high-profile brands such as BMW, GE, Mastercard, Toyota, AT&T, and Bank of America.
