NEW YORK CITY — Creative production studio Taylor James (www.taylorjames.com) has promoted George Rex to global chief operating officer. He will work across all TJ offices — New York, Los Angeles, Mexico and London — ensuring the continuous growth of the business.
Rex initially joined Taylor James from advertising technology platform Sovrn Holdings Inc., and has proven himself to be an experienced business executive with a track record of delivering increased shareholder value. At Sovrn, he helped launch the EMEA office, based out of London, and grew turnover 400 percent over a three-year period. He joined Taylor James nearly two years ago as a commercial and operations director, and he quickly moved up the ranks, becoming chief operating officer for America. He will relocate to New York from London and will be responsible for replicating the company’s business growth in the US, UK and Latin America, while also continuing to oversee the day-to-day operational functions of the business.
“George’s strong leadership skills and profound understanding of the business, the culture and the core values of Taylor James make him the best person for this job,” states Glen Taylor, founder and chairman at Taylor James. “With his financial and commercial expertise and in-depth understanding of our industry, George will help us explore new ways to leverage our offering and drive future growth for Taylor James. We’re excited to continue on this next chapter with him.”
“In a tough economy, COVID-19 has accelerated digital and technological transformation in creating content, leaving Taylor James and our owners Tag, in a sweet spot for growth,” adds Rex. “I am excited to help deliver the growth aspirations the business has globally, working alongside such a talented team.”
