DUSSELDORF, GERMANY — Elements (https://elements.tv), the provider of storage solutions, has
introduced Elements Satellite, which allows users to easily access their editing workstation remotely, while providing high levels of responsiveness and security. Elements Satellite was purposely built for the media entertainment industry and remote workflows that are being implemented due to the pandemic.
Elements touts Satellite’s stability, high-frame rate playback (4K/60fps), audio sync and fluid response, giving users an experience much like they are sitting in front of their familiar workstation. The lightweight Elements Client app allows users to manage and initiate encrypted connections via a single click, using either Windows or MacOS operating systems. Beyond editorial, Satellite can be used for less performance-critical tasks, including exporting, ingesting and workstation management.
Access, permissions and accounts can all be controlled using the Elements-based connection broker.
Remote sessions can also be efficiently managed using the company’s WebGUI, without the need for costly hardware, third-party software or troublesome configuration.
Elements is making Satellite available on a per-seat subscription basis as an add-on to an Elements system. Customers that don't have an Elements system can get a virtual or cloud-hosted Gateway subscription to use the connection broker functionality required for Satellite.
System requirements for the 4K/60fps playback include a minimum of 10Mbps bandwidth per client (30Mbps recommended); Core 2 Duo or better CPU (Core i5 recommended); Intel GMA 950, Nvidia 6000 series, or AMD Radeon X1000 series GPU; and 4GB RAM (minimum). A monitor or HDMI emulator dongle must be connected on the host computer.
