MONTREAL — Becca Scott has been appointed managing director of Outpost VFX in Montréal. Formerly head of production, Scott’s promotion is to a newly-created role that will see her manage the whole facility and its operations.
Scott joined Outpost VFX in 2019 as its first employee in North America following a decade working at major VFX vendors in Montréal, Toronto and London. Some of her tentpole VFX production credits include The Martian and Guardians of the Galaxy. In the short time since, Outpost VFX, which is headquartered in Bournemouth, UK, has seen its Montréal operation grow to 50 people, with further growth projected throughout 2020. In the studio’s first 12 months, Scott has overseen VFX production for See (Apple), Locke & Key (Netflix) and the upcoming second season of The Alienist (Paramount Television).
“I’m delighted to take on the role of managing director in Montréal,” she says. “Over the last 12 months I’ve overseen our growth to 50 people, delivering ever more complex work, and am looking forward to being in the driving seat as we continue to hone our client services in the region, continue to build on our close ties with our UK team and further refine our internal culture.”
