One Thousand Birds hires sound designer/mixer Hayley Livingston

NEW YORK CITY — Bi-coastal sound studio One Thousand Birds (https://otbirds.com) has hired Hayley Livingston as sound designer/mixer in New York. She spent the past year working as a freelance artist, creating sound for commercials, feature-length films, shorts and podcasts. Her appointment marks the first time a woman has held this full-time role at One Thousand Birds.

As a musician, Livingston has always been passionate about sound, shifting toward audio post and sound design in college when she discovered a love for cutting sound for picture. Her career spans dialogue editing and Foley, along with other audio post services. In her new role, she will be responsible for sound designing and mixing commercial and film projects for both brand and agency clients. Livingston will report directly to co-founder/creative director Andrew Tracy and lead sound designer Torin Geller.

“Hayley is obsessed with sound, as we all are at OTB,” says Tracy. “We were drawn to her creative energy right away. Her taste and natural talent were undeniable. While freelancing with us for a year, Hayley mastered the detail in design and subtleties in mix that set OTB apart in creativity for post audio.”

“I’m so excited to officially join the OTB team,” says Livingston. “I really feel like I've found my place here amongst the warmth and excellent sound that OTB cultivates. I’m looking forward to many days of turning sounds into stories and stories into sound.”
