NEW YORK CITY — The Chimney Group (www.chimneygroup.com) recently welcomed Chris Peterson to its New York office as the studio’s new EP of longform entertainment. He will help build upon the company’s successful longform credits, which include The Dead Don’t Die,
Atomic Blonde,
Chappaquiddick,
The Wife, and
Her.
As head of film outreach, Peterson will leverage his expertise in film finance, tax credit maximization and technical workflows to grow Chimney’s feature film and television capabilities. He brings over two decades of experience in production and post production, and a credit list that spans the television, film, technology, advertising, music, video game and XR industries.
For the past eight years, Peterson has been board secretary of the Post New York Alliance, which was co-founded by Chimney North America CEO Marcelo Gandola. The PNYA is a trade association that lobbied for and passed the first ever post production-only tax credit, which was recently extended for two years. He is also a member of SMPTE.
“Chimney combines the best of both worlds: a boutique feel, and global resources,” says Peterson. “Add to that the company’s expertise in financing and tax credits, and you have a truly unique resource for producers and filmmakers. I couldn’t be happier about joining the team, and bringing these resources to my friends and clients.”
