LOS ANGELES — The Mark Awards will return for the fourth year, recognizing the best in production music. Named in honor of the late Andy Mark, who was a library owner and founding member of the Production Music Association, the Awards honor top work in 27 categories.
Submissions for the awards are being accepted until August 17th (www.awardcore.com/pma/). Winners will be announced at The Mark Awards show, which is set to take place on September 26th, kicking off the 2018 PMC at the Loews hotel in Hollywood. Nominees will be announced several weeks prior to the event.
Best tracks in the following categories will be recognized: ambient, EDM, folk, hip hop/urban, jazz, pop/rock, orchestral, vocal, world and dark/mysterious. Production music artists in several genres will also be honored. And the Mark Awards will call attention to the best use of production music in categories that include commercials, on-air promos, theatrical/video games and theme songs. Top cover art will be recognized too.
A Hall of Fame Award will be presented to an individual of a current or pre-existing production music library whose work has made significant contributions towards the advancement of the production music industry.
The Ambassador Award will be given to an individual from any field, whom has devoted exceptional service towards ensuring a thriving and sustainable production music industry.
The PMA Awards Committee has assembled a jury of music supervisors, creative directors, promo executives, and trailer supervisors. Up to three top choices will be included in each category. Individual juries will be assembled for each category.
