DALLAS — The team at Lucky Post (www.lucky-post.com) recently completed work on a new video for By The Coast. While the video was directed by Lucky 21’s Andrew Ryan Shepherd, the Ghost track is the result of a musical collaboration between Nick Box and Adam Fischer. The single launched on December 14th.
By The Coast came together, in part, via Instagram, when Fischer posted the early stages of a song in development. Fischer very nearly deleted the post, but not before it caught the ears of Box, who is known for incorporating subtle piano into emotive, sweeping arrangements.
Shepherd, who himself is a musician-turned-director, created a dreamlike atmosphere to visually represent the track. In the video, a man continually finds himself just steps behind the female he longs for. Ultimately, his wide-ranging journey leads him back to the place where he started, and when he arrives, the girl is there too.
Lucky Post helped shape the video’s edit, color and visual effects. The project was shot on an Arri Alexa Mini with a Cinevision Anamorphic lens at an aspect ratio of 2.667:1. Editor Sai Selvarajan cut the 4:30 video in Adobe Premiere and Neil Anderson gave it its color treatment using Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve. Dan Margules handled visual effects work for the project.
