NEW YORK — Whitehouse Post (www.whitehousepost.com) continues its tradition of growing talent from within with the recent promotion of Nate Katz to editor. Katz began his career at Whitehouse Post and most recently served as senior assistant editor.
“I came on at a time when we were expanding from the smaller NYC offshoot we were, to the mainstay we are today,” he recalls. “I worked my way through the ranks, learning from the incredible editors who’ve graced this place. I’ve felt such loyalty to this company, because from the partners on down, there’s always been an ethos that this is more than just a business. To be an editor was always the goal, but to do it with this company is really a dream.”
Katz recently contributed to a number of project, including campaigns for West Elm, TD Ameritrade and Bank of America, a Converse effort directed by Lotfy Nathan and Pulse Films, and The Shins’ Name for You music video.
“As much as I enjoy the aspects of visual editing, I really love crafting a story’s narrative,” says Katz. “Having worked on a number of documentary and doc-style projects, I take a lot of satisfaction in finding the thread of a story and teasing it out. Understanding a narrative’s interconnectivity, and how a single decision affects the whole is hugely appealing.”
“Nate has grown immensely over the past couple of years, and in the past 12 months especially, he has really pushed himself creatively,” says Whitehouse New York partner/editor Alaster Jordan. “The timing was ideal to appoint [him] to his new role as editor. It’s important for us that our young editors have the fire inside to take on the challenges we all face in today’s markets.”
