FRANKFURT, GERMANY — Lesspain Software (https://lesspain.software/kyno) has updated its Kyno media management app to Version 1.2. Kyno is a media management, screening, logging, organization and transcoding tool for those working with video and imagery. It supports a wide variety of industry-standard formats and integrates seamlessly with Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple’s Final Cut Pro X.
The 1.2 update introduces a number of improvements to subclipping, transcoding and rewrapping, an overhaul of the FCPX export workflow, and a host of usability advancements and bug fixes.
Supported formats now include ProRes MXF, DNxHR, Olympus and Fujifilm RAW image files, Apple Core Audio, Hap video, AVI ultrasound, and FRAPS for gaming captures. A complete rethinking of the FCPX export workflow has been implemented. Transcoding improvements include the option to add handles when batch-exporting subclips, and increased flexibility handling file timestamps and timecodes across all export, transcoding and rewrap operations. Simplified batch subclip export allows users to define the content they wish to extract from large amounts of footage faster and easier than ever before.
A Windows version of the software is currently in development and planned for release in Q2 2017. Users can signal interest in the beta program by writing to contact@lesspain.software. Kyno 1.2 is available for a 14-day trial and purchase at kyno.software. Current users will be notified of an available automatic update.
